Waleed Shah

Director & Certified Practising Speech Pathologist (CPSP)

Waleed is a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist and proud graduate of Flinders University, with over seven years of clinical experience across hospital, community, and academic settings. As Director of Southern Health Services, Waleed leads with a strong foundation in evidence-based, client-focused care.

 

His experience includes working in paediatric disability services, acute and rehabilitation settings, as well as community and residential aged care, supporting clients with a wide range of communication and swallowing needs.

 

Waleed is also committed to the growth of the profession, having tutored and mentored students as a clinical educator at Flinders University. He brings both clinical expertise and leadership to Southern Health Services, ensuring the highest quality care for individuals and families across the community.

Toby Yeung

Certified Practising Speech Pathologist (CPSP)

Toby is a qualified Speech Pathologist with extensive experience supporting adults with swallowing, voice, and communication difficulties. He has worked as part of large speech pathology and multidisciplinary teams across hospital and community settings, with a particular focus on the assessment, treatment, and management of dysphagia in adults with complex medical conditions.

 

In addition to his expertise in acute hospital care for patients with complex speech, voice, and swallowing needs, Toby is committed to providing compassionate, patient-centred support. His fluency in Cantonese and Mandarin enables him to communicate effectively with diverse communities, helping build strong rapport and improving care outcomes close to home.

Shewar Mehar

Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD)

Shewar has a strong focus on a client-centred approach, delivering tailored nutrition care to meet each individual’s unique needs.

 

She has had experience working across a range of settings, including acute hospitals, community health, disability services, and aged care. These diverse roles have allowed Shewar to work on a wide variety of nutritional tasks—from managing acute inpatient care, to developing personalised dietary strategies that support chronic disease management, enhance quality of life, and promote overall wellbeing. She has also collaborated with parents and stakeholders in school-based nutrition programs and undertaken meal planning and auditing responsibilities.

 

Fluent in Urdu, Hindi, and English, Shewar is passionate about working with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds and is committed to making nutrition support accessible, inclusive, and culturally sensitive.
